helipad
A helipad is a designated, often marked flat surface for helicopter takeoff and landing, typically featuring a painted ‘H’, lighting, and safety markings. Located on ground level, rooftops, ships, or, for temporary use, on remote sites, they provide specialized, secure landing areas for vertical-lift aircraft.

- TLOF (Touchdown and Lift-off Area): The load-bearing area where the helicopter lands.
- FATO (Final Approach and Take-off Area): The safety zone over which the helicopter completes the final phase of approach or takes off.
- Vertiport: A, specialized, often larger landing area, frequently designed for future eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft.
